These classes are the new standard for total body toning in Pilates. I’ve never been in better shape and I feel challenged each time I go.

know before you go

  1. Read our Studio Policies & FAQ.

  2. Socks with grip on the bottom are required; this is mostly for your safety, but also for studio hygiene. You can buy them online or at the studio!

  3. Wear workout clothes that you are comfortable in, but aren’t too loose on your body. Please don’t wear anything with an exposed zipper as it can rip the upholstery on our equipment.

  4. Look up where we are & understand your parking options so you know right where to go!

  5. Try to leave so you can walk into the studio 10 minutes before the start of your workout so we have plenty of time to get you settled in!

Regardless of experience, we encourage New Smiths to start with an Apprentice Tempo Group Workout* or a Private Workout because they allow us to better introduce you to our style, equipment, and properly welcome you to the studio!

Our workouts are designed to challenge, but modifications can always be offered! If you’ve never done Pilates before or have a serious injury, we suggest you start with a Private so we can get to know you and then discuss what’s best for you. If you have any questions, just contact us - our team is here to help and want you to feel comfortable!

Here’s what to expect during your first visit to the studio:

  1. Welcoming You: When you arrive, someone from our team will greet you, check you in, and answer any of your questions. They’ll have you fill out a waiver and ask if you have grip socks - if you don’t you can purchase them from us! They’ll then show you where to put your things and introduce you to your Trainer.

  2. Injury Chat: The Trainer will ask you if you have any injuries or pre-existing conditions that you want to discuss. Feel free to share anything you think would be helpful and mention any fitness goals you might have. We love learning about each Smith so we can help you have the best experience possible!

  3. Equipment Overview: We know equipment varies from studio to studio, so our Trainer will ask you if you have any questions about our Balance Body Studio Reformers, Exo Chairs, or TRX Trainer straps and will help make sure you’re all set up

*Apprentice Tempo is an intermediate level workout and appropriate for those at an intermediate fitness level who have experience using a Pilates reformer machine. If you haven’t done Pilates before or are a Beginner, contact us so we can discuss the best approach for you!

I’d never done Pilates before and I walked into Pilatesmith on a whim a few months ago, and now I’m hooked! Jessica (owner) and all the girls who work there are so friendly. I stop in just to chat all the time. It’s rare to find a gym with such a welcoming atmosphere, especially for a novice. I do privates with Brigitte and classes and both are killer workouts. I’m getting so much stronger and I’m happy I found Pilatesmith for the workouts and the new friends :)
