celebrate PRIDE WITH PILATES!

To celebrate Santa Monica’s first ever SaMo PRIDE month, Pilatesmith is joining local businesses to help raise awareness and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, individuality, inclusiveness, and acceptance by hosting our very own PRIDE Celebration!

We’re offering a 30-minute Group Workout for just $5! This is a 30-minute version of our Apprentice Tempo* workout, which is the intermediate workout on our group schedule. Afterwards, we’ll beat the heat with some popsicles and conversation. Our hope is that this workout will help bring the community together through fitness so we can celebrate love in EVERY color! See you there!

*Note that these workouts are not “beginner level” workouts and are appropriate for those who are at an intermediate fitness level and familiar with the Reformer machine. If you haven’t done Pilates before or are a beginner, reach out to us at hello@pilatesmithstudio.com so we can discuss the best approach for you!


KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

  1. Read our Studio Policies & FAQ

  2. Socks with grip on the bottom are required; this is mostly for your safety, but also for studio hygiene (you can buy them online or at the studio)

  3. Look up where we are & understand your parking options so you know right where to go!

  4. Wear workout clothes that you are comfortable in and aren’t too loose on your body. Please don’t wear anything with an exposed zipper as it can rip the upholstery on our equipment.

  5. Try to leave so you can walk into the studio 10 minutes before the start of your workout so we have plenty of time to get you settled in!


WHAT TO EXPECT During your first workout

Our workouts are designed to challenge, but modifications can always be offered! If you’ve never done Pilates before or have a serious injury, we suggest you start with a Private so we can get to know you and then discuss what’s best for you. If you have any questions, just contact us - our team is here to help and want you to feel comfortable!

Here’s what to expect during your first visit to the studio:

  1. Welcoming You: When you arrive, someone from our team will greet you, check you in, and answer any of your questions. They’ll have you fill out a waiver and ask if you have grip socks - if you don’t you can purchase them from us! They’ll then show you where to put your things and introduce you to your Trainer.

  2. Injury Chat: The Trainer will ask you if you have any injuries or pre-existing conditions that you want to discuss. Feel free to share anything you think would be helpful and mention any fitness goals you might have. We love learning about each Smith so we can help you have the best experience possible!

  3. Equipment Overview: We know equipment varies from studio to studio, so our Trainer will ask you if you have any questions about our Balance Body Studio Reformers, Exo Chairs, or TRX Trainer straps and will help make sure you’re all set up

Best new addition to Main Street! I love coming here. The studio is beautiful. Every attention to detail has been met. Not only with the design of the space, but the function of the classes. Upstairs are where privates and duos are held, and down stairs is where the main classes are. There are also lockers for your belongings. I haven’t had an instructor that I didn’t like. Classes are challenging but are held in a fun supportive atmosphere. I try to come everyday and feel like I am getting stronger and improving each time.
