What is the benefit of Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates?

Movement is one of the best ways to take care of yourself when pregnant. Not only does it keep you strong and mobile, but it keeps your endorphins flowing! Our Prenatal & Postnatal workouts at both our Culver City and Santa Monica Pilates Studios will challenge you while keeping you safe. We not only avoid exercises that can increase trauma to vulnerable areas like your abs and pelvic floor, but also focus on strengthening areas that will support a more comfortable pregnancy, delivery, and recovery.

Do I need to provide a doctor’s note?

Yes. Once you are 12 weeks along, please share a doctor’s note that clears you for 'Group Reformer Pilates' or 'Private Reformer Pilates'.

Can I participate if I’m in my 3rd trimester?

Yes! Our Prenatal & Postnatal workouts at our Culver City and Santa Monica Pialtes Studio are safe for any trimester.

Can I take other formats at Pilatesmith?

As long as you are under 12 weeks! Once you are 12 weeks along, enroll in either our Prenatal Group Workout or a Private session.

I’ve never done Reformer Pilates. Can I participate?

Our Group Workouts at both our Santa Monica and Culver City Pilates Studios are taught at the intermediate level, so they are best for those familiar with the Pilates Reformer. If you are new to it, please start with Private Training.
