Recurring Private Training Cancellations. If you have a preferred time(s) and cancel your sessions frequently, we’ll shift you to booking week-to-week so we can offer those times to our waitlist. This allows us to better accommodate our customers and mitigates impact to our Trainers earnings since they are paid by the hour.

Waitlists. Booking in advance is the best way to get into the workouts you want. If a workout is full, we encourage you to find another time to ensure you get your workout in, but joining the waitlist is also an option. Here’s how it works:

  • If you see a "Join Waitlist" button, you can add yourself. No button = waitlist full.

  • Manage it like a confirmed booking - cancel if you can’t attend.

  • Our 12-hour late cancellation and No-Show policies still apply.

  • You can get added to the workout up until 1 hour before it starts.

  • If you get in you’ll be notified automatically by text and if you Enable "Account Management" email notifications you’ll also be emailed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you offer intro offers for new clients? We do! Visit our New Smiths page.

What makes Pilatesmith different? Pilatesmith is known for our results-driven Athletic Pilates style - it’s traditional Pilates taught with an intentional pace and physicality that delivers the benefits of Pilates, builds fitness, and transforms your body. Add in a community that knows your name, and you've got something special. Stop choosing between Pilates and fitness. Between intensity and community. Come see why we’re the best Pilates studio on the westside of Los Angeles!

Why should I do Pilates? Pilates is a low-impact, weight resistance exercise method. It’s known for working the core - which is absolutely true - but it works the whole body and all the little muscles you didn’t know you had! It’s a technical method so knowing how to do it correctly goes a long way towards seeing results quickly. Teaching is tricky in a group setting, so Private Training is the best way to learn Pilates. The list of positive outcomes from Pilates is (very) long, but here are some of our favorites:

  • Tones and strengthens the entire body

  • Improves flexibility, mobility, and alignment

  • Helps relieve pain and prevent injury

  • Improves posture

  • Weight loss

How long are workouts? We follow the industry standard and offer 50-minute long workouts. Fun fact: Joseph Pilates taught 40-minute long sessions and said that’s all you should need if you’re doing it right!

Do you take walk-ins? We do not! Please book in advance from our schedule.

How do I book a Group Workout? You can sign up for workouts directly from our Schedule page or download out app. Just click “Book” next to the workout you want and follow the prompts.

How do I book a Private Training session? If you’re new, fill out Private Training Request Form and we’ll respond within 24 hours. If you’ve already done a Private Training session with us, email the studio!

Do you take insurance? We don’t, but we are HSA/FSA eligible!

Do you offer Prenatal or Postnatal Pilates? We do! It's very popular. Check out our Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates page for details.

Do you have showers? We do not! But we do offer body wipes as a free amenity in our bathrooms so you can refresh after your workout.

Do you offer “Classical Pilates”? We teach Pilates on a traditional Reformer (not a Megaformer, Proformer, or another spin off of the Pilates Reformer). Our workout programs are made up of exercises from the Classical and Contemporary repertoires. If you’re looking for a true “Classical Pilates” workout that follows the original order of exercises that Joseph Pilates developed, we do not offer that in Group Workouts. We can offer that in a Private however because we can customize the workout for you.
